Note to self

NEVER make anything that calls for an I-Chord again.
What a pain in the ass. It seems sooooooo simple ... soooo easy .... so MUNDANE.
I just worked on it for an hour ... and STILL not done.

I-Cord Part 2

I have no idea what I do wrong w/ I-Chord .. it's not like it is difficult in any way, but it takes me FOREVER. I was hoping to felt my camera bag tonight. Oh well.
I have some extra time on my hands tomorrow and will see what I can get done.

I Cord

I'm making an I Cord for my felted camera bag ... Damn .. This thing is taking me forever.
I also have decided that I want to find some fabric to make a lining for my felted knitting bag. The bag is big, and it's already felted, but it doesn't have a handle. Yet ... I'm not sure what to put on it.
I'm thinking about looking for a vintage bag and recycling the handles ... so far this bag doesn't have much character.
If I go to yard sales today ... I'll look for something.

Picot Trim Posted by Hello

Sundress Part 4

shaddup already ... I know :)
I had to go buy thread tonight to sew the skirt. Well, I found the most perfect beads ... then these cute butterfly buttons ... oh ... and then more cotton for a little trim work.

Sundress Part 3

ok, are you sick of hearing about this yet? lol
I'm probably talking to myself as I don't think anyone actually reads this blog ... np tho ... I'll just keep writing, I'm used to talking to myself ;)
The bodice of the sun dress is finished. I need buttons and fabric. I guess I should get thread too.
I have to finish weaving in the yarn. I was amazed that I finished it up and had 3 INCHES of yarn left. Talk about calling it close.
I may end up getting more cotton. I think the neck line needs to look a little more finished. I'll see.

Sun Dress part 2

I'm still working on the cotton bodice of the sundress. It's going rather quickly I just don't have the time to sit down a work on it as often as I would like. I have decided to put a crisscross strap on the back. I'm working on the straps now.
I'm also reconsidering my fabric choice. I picked this great tie die fabric w/ butterflies but I'm thinking the bodice needs something more floral. Maybe some HUGE flowers w/ a white, yellow or light orange back ground. I often like very large prints on little girls clothing .. where the print is so large it's hard to tell what it is. Easier to see than explain.
I think I'll take the bodice to the fabric store and just look around until I'm struck w/ something. I'll probably end up sewing a sun dress for my older daughter w/ the tie die fabric.
I'm afraid to unpack my sewing machine ... I hope I can get it working.

Sun Dress

I finished up a good portion of a toddler sized sun dress bodice last night. I have to figure out how I want to do the straps.
The bodice is a white cotton, mini shell stitch w/ picots for trim. I found a 'tie die' looking fabric with butterflies for the skirt. Now I have to decided If I want the skirt gathered or straight. Right now I'm thinking gathered, it will give it a softer look.
If my sewing machine isn't working I'm going to have to do all the sewing by hand.
Yesterday at the fabric store I was lusting after a sewing machine and/or surger. My machine is 20 years old and it has been dropped several times while moving. Even though I have worked on it several times the tension seems to work it's self loose and many times it skips stitches.
I'm thinking I would also like to get some crystal beads to hand sew into the bodice.
I would like to have this completed by Saturday. Well, I REALLY would like to have TWO completed by Saturday (so my other daughter could have one as well) but I doubt very much that will happen.

Crochet Market Bag made w/ a Hemp Base Posted by Hello

Market Bag

In keeping w/ Crochet May I am designing a Market Bag today. It has a hemp cord bottom for strength, the sides are a strong acrylic.
I should be finished with it by tonight.

Yesterday I bought 4 balls of Cascade 220, light orange, purple, black and bright pink. Now I don't know what to make with it. I have sworn off TAN or any other variant. I am finding working w/ color difficult.

Crochet @ McDonalds

They asked me not too.
Weird ... I'm tellin' ya. just strange. Were they afraid I was going to commit a terrorist act w/ J Crochet hook?
I had one ball of yarn in my bag and my project in my lap. The project being a 7 inch Granny Sq. It's not like I was working on a king sized bed spread.

Crochet Poncho

I had to rip everything out I did at SnB. No biggie tho ... I'm almost finished.

Crochet Poncho

I started a moss green crochet poncho at Stitch N' Bitch last night. I hope it have it finished tonight or maybe tomorrow night.
If it comes out well, I'll put it in the art show. If not .. who knows, Table Cloth anyone? lol

One of the things I realize that I'm just not good at is "flair" embellishments always seem to be beyond me. Maybe that is because in my everyday life I wear pretty simple clothes.
mmmm ... maybe I should change that :)

If you decided to paint a ball of ribbon make sure you take the foam ball out of the center before it is nuked.
Flames are NOT good for a microwave. And the smell lasts for days and days and days.
