Felted Fancy Granny (Cascade 220 heather) Posted by Hello

sigh

yoga bag number 2
ok ... so .... making a yoga bag out of cotton is a stupid thing to do. It STICKS to the bag.
The kid is having a veryhard time getting the mat in and out of the bag.
I'm not sure that I'll try for number 3 :(

Lay Out

I hope to have the flowers sewn on tomorrow and figure out a good way to apply the strap.
I think I need to do a little trim work on the top to make it look like a flower when closed.
I *think* I'll have it finished by The Kid's birthday! :)

yoga bag update

The yoga bag is 90% complete. I have made about 12 crochet flowers to attach to it and I found some cool pink ribbon for the strap. I guess I should make some green leaves to help set off the bouquet. We will see.
I think she is going to be thrilled w/ her yoga bag :) I know she is with yoga :)

Peek-a-yarn

So .. I'm looking everywhere for the yarn I hand painted yesterday. I thought I would incorporate it into a felted bag I'm designing. I can't find it ANYWHERE! So frustrating!
I look through my yarn stash, (all of it) under the bed, in the kids rooms, etc.
Finally I give up and decide to make myself a cup of tea. I open the microwave and there it was.
Only in my house ..... lol

Painted Wool Project

OneLifeToKnit
Well, I have a bit more done that I did this afternoon. The next couple of days I'm going to be pretty busy. I don't think I'll get a chance to work on this until Stitch N Bitch on Tue.
I took The Kid out after dance class this afternoon, to a local kid friendly coffee shop. I had a chance to knit a bit there while she watched a DVD and played w/ the train set.

Painted Wool, however it is not orange at all, the orange that shows here is really pink and cherry Posted by Hello

Shrink Shrank Shrunk

The felted yoga bag felted a bit to much to be used as a yoga bag! LOL
I think it is now going to be considered a kite bag and The Kid will have something to tote her kite around in! Live and Learn!

Yoga Bag thoughts

ok, so ... this yoga bag has me thinking. I want to make them to sell. Not one like I just made, but something w/ more interest. Maybe out of soy silk or bamboo. I'll add few jewel embellishments here and there.
now ... I need to find a place to sell them. Maybe the art show? If so, I have a little over 2 wks to get a good amount done.

Yoga Bag

The yoga bag was make with Cascade 220 (green) and Lambs Pride.
Crochet w/ an E hook
The Cascade felted much nicer than the Lambs Pride.
I may felt some flowers or another design. This really isn't a 'fun' bag for a 6 year old, but a good first go at it.

Yoga Bag

"The Kid" starts yoga this week, I am now trying to hurry and make her a yoga bag. There is a pattern in SnB Nation but I'm not crazy about it. I have some extra 100% Lamb's Pride ... so I"m going to give it a shot.
It will be crochet and felted. I'm not sure about this at all ... but it's a quick project and made w/ extra that I already have in my yarn stash. If this works out well, I'll consider making them to sell.

My Next Big Project

I am planning on making this next. I'm currently looking for a good quality, low cost non synthetic yarn. Even though the pattern doesn't call for bulky wt, I may up the needle size and go w/ bulky.

Recycled silk

I just finished up a roll brim hat made with recycled silk http://justonemorerow.home.att.net/silktips.htm
I became interested in this yarn when I read the story of it. I also think the colors and texture are amazing. Originally I had planed to make a lacy type knit scarf for a gift. However after working with many combinations of color, texture, needle size and stitches I just couldn't find a look I was happy with. I then decided to go with a very simple rolled brim hat knit on size 10 circulars. I started it one evening and finished it the next day.
I realized something in the process. While I thought I would love this yarn, and did on the hank, I really wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I would be.
I have about a half a ball left and have a few ideas what to do with it, but for now, it will go in my yarn stash and wait for me to be inspired by it again.
More than likely I will never buy this yarn again, It's very costly $20 for a 175 gm hank.

Chicknits Bucket Hat

I bought the pattern from www.chicknits.com. It was very well written and I would be happy to do business w/ them again.
This was made w/ Cascade 220 100% wool and felted.

The Scarf That Got Away

I made this scarf for my friend Kelly, I won't even go into how it was for her birthday and I was a year late.
It was my first knitting project in a long time ... it ended up being 6 feet long ... maybe 7 ... by the time I was done .. I would have told you 12 (like a bad fish story) I'm sure it was really only 4 or 5 ft lol
mmm ... I have never seen her wear it ... I don't blame her tho ... I wouldn't either lol
